An Idea for FHE

Here's an idea for FHE that I got from my primary teacher.....

1. First, go to http://www.sugardoodle.info/mambo/.

2. You should see gray buttons right below the top part of the blog.
click on the one that says "Primary Manuals"

3. Then click on the Primary 5 manual (anyone can go back to being that age).

4. Scroll down, and click on lesson 38; Brigham Young Leads the Church.

5. Next, click on (there's going to be a lot of clicking :) number seven, Apostle cards.

6. At the top, click on "open Apostle Cards in English".

7. Print, and you can have each family member try to match the pictures to the name and facts.

Enjoy!

More Yard Pictures, With a Hummingbird

These types of flowers are one of my favorite, mostly because of the color.

This is probably one pf the best Zinnias (let's hope that's right) at the time.

This is a Bumble Bee on a Marigold (the Marigolds are pretty much taking over
our yard- it's very pretty in the summer)

This is a pic I took of a hummingbird I think last month.
It's at the butterfly bush.

New Recipe

My mom and I made a new recipe a while ago, I finally remembered to post about it. It's called Vanilla Shortbread. We got the idea from all the vanilla beans we have. You pretty much just make shortbread, but add about a half a teaspoon of milk, and a few vanilla beans (make sure to scrape them really good, it's worth it!). I also made lavender short bread about a month ago. You can see the recipe here, at the bottom of the page. And yes, I was wondering about this too, you add the seeds as well; they won't change the flavor. The wands turned out pretty cute, too (Ari made one at her activity days a while before).

Air Filled Water Balloons

A while ago, I pumped up a bunch of water balloons. With a basketball pump (it actually was
waaaay easier- I should try it with balloons at b-day parties).

Then we rubbed them on Kai's hair, and stuck them on Ari. It seems like she didn't enjoy
the ones on her face. Sad for her- she couldn't move until we said, "Done!"

They did it to me, too. As well as Kai. He kept pointing out spots he didn't want them.
Until we told him he could shake them off in the end. Then he was happy!

More Flowers

Here are some more of the flower pics I took. The rest I'll post
tomorrow. Above are the Dianthus flowers I planted a couple years ago.
I think that they are one of my favourite flowers. That and roses (they smell
very pretty).

Light pink Hollyhocks.

Don't know the name, but are pretty (Grandpa has them, too).

Blurry honey bee.

To me, miniature sunflowers.

Photo Mystery Solved!

Finally! I found out where the photos were. They were in a file we hadn't
already looked at. There are many flower pictures I took, so I'll do a few
every day. Most of them I had to hold down, since it was so windy the day
I took them. Other than that, school has been wonderful, I have other friends I have
in my class that I like to play with, and there is a thing that we do in our class, called "Reading Buddies". Where we help kids in a class in first grade read and do their assignments.
It's really fun, and I got my third grade teacher's granddaughter as a buddy!

(look the other way :-)

Hope you like them!

Sorry, I haven't been posting anything lately. We figured out how to download the pictures, but we haven't figured out where they went after we downloaded them. Anyways, just yesterday we got new pajamas and school clothes. Tomorrow's my first day (as well an Ari's- Kai doesn't start for a while). My teacher sounds super nice, and it's a cool classroom (it has blown up balls hanging from the ceiling that are planets). I know that I won't get lost either, because my classroom is right across from my old one. But I have to admit, it's gonna be different without Maddie, plus I am scared- first day jitters. What could go wrong, though? The worst thing that could happen is me missing the bus!

Dollhouse

While I wait to figure out how to put the pictures on my camera (thanks, Grandma and Grandpa!), onto the computer, I will do another post. I have just gotten some new clay, and I made a few cats and dogs. Grandma and Grandpa B. saw them when they were over here, but I'll have to show everyone else when they come over for lunch. Eli and his mom and dad came over for dinner a few nights ago, and I showed him my dollhouse (he saw it- or should I say, discovered it downstairs, so I brought it upstairs to show him). He kept saying "It's just sooo cute!" He also said that if I wasn't finished with it the next time he came over, he wanted to help me. I agreed. I'll show some pictures on here of it soon, I hope. Until then, I'll keep working on the new addition!

For the grand (or maybe not that grand) opening of my very own blog, I will tell you my favorite cookie recipe-Snickerdoodles.

Snickerdoodles
Bake: 350 F
1/2 cup of softened butter
1 cup of sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
1 1/2 cups of flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Blend one cup of sugar and butter in a mixing bowl, until a paste. Add wet ingredients, then slowly add dry. In a small bowl, mix the two tbsp. of sugar with the ground cinnamon. Roll dough into balls, then roll the balls in the cinnamon and sugar. Place balls onto baking sheets and bake for about ten minutes (or until they're a bit brown, but not burnt).
Enjoy!
